Last week I featured a couple of new sites which help charities benefit as a result of your routine online shopping (more info here). Since then a number of listeners have asked me to repeat the details of the sites I featured last year which allow you to create an online wishlist of charitable donations.
Charities including Oxfam and Sightsavers have their own sites which enable you to choose a value of donation and see exactly what your gift will be spent on .
The Alternative Christmas List lets you create a gift-list of donations to different charities including Barnardo’s, Help the Aged, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Save the Children and Farm Africa.
Dear Miles,
I was wondering if you would consider featuring my site on the show. I am attempting to raise £250,000 for the International Glaucoma Association and Guide Dogs for the Blind by walking 700 miles across Antarctica to the South Pole. (www.visionsouthpole.org). One of the principal aims of the expedition is to increase awareness of the common causes of visual impairment and the importance of routine eye health examinations amongst the general population.
Yours faithfully,
Cameron
