Website of the Day: Friday June 11th
It's no great secret that I'm not exactly an expert on anything to do with sport, but even I can't miss the
fact that Euro 2004 is a big deal, so here are a few sites which may be worth a look. Read on to find out how to suggest your favourites.
>> Euro 2004 - Official Site
The official site for the tournament offers a subscription service for video highlights and audio coverage in all seven languages, plus hugely comprehensive news coverage, fan zones and downloads
>> Mini Motty on BBC Sport
Download this animated John Motson who'll pops up on your desktop with news, score updates and reminders when an England match is about to start.
>> Euro 2004 on BBC Five Live
A fantastic selection of news updates, and interactive features including the opportunity to rate the entire England team individually after each game, and Euro 2004 Look-alikes, which asks whether Alan Hansen and Captain Scarlet were separated at birth?
>> Football Badgers
Very strange. A contender for best unofficial Euro 2004 anthem, featuring (wait for it...) animated badgers.
>> Win a Beckham shirt
This site from Footlocker has lots of Becks-friendly prizes. You'll need to click fast on lots of little red icons to be in with a shot of winning
>> Glory Run
This online game is part of T Mobile's Euro 2004 offering. The aim is to "celebrate a goal with as much style as possible, on a triumphant run through a packed bar". A high score may win you tickets to the Euro 2004 final.
>> Send Miles your suggestions for the best Euro 2004 Sites
As my knowledge and understanding of Football is pretty much non-existant, I'd like your recommendations for realy good Euro 2004 sites. I'd especially like to find some nice tongue-in-cheek stuff - satire, online games etc, but would also be interested to hear about good news sites, fantasy leagues, sites devoted to specific players, managers or even refs, or anything else to do with Euro 2004. Just email me the site's name and address and a couple of lines about what the site does and why you like it! Hope to feature some of your suggestions on air next Thursday before the England/Switzerland game.
